A new Non-practical kitchen, was put in the current dining room space, as well as doorway arches throughout the space were squared off to change the look of the apartment.   The original plan was obtained from the Toronto Art Department Website, Measurements were confirmed on site, and edited as required.</image:caption>

      <image:title>WM6 - House</image:title>
<image:caption>Using a Location for the main floor, this second floor bedroom and hallway were built in Studio. Researching similar homes in Toronto on MLS lead to some unique characteristics being incorporated to the final design. The sloped ceilings and shoot off balcony were added to give the space some additional depth, while not making the room look as large as it was. The DOP also requested some renders using different lenses to allow him to better asses any concerns he may have. One issue he had was seeing the shoot off staircase from the bedroom. Mel was able to quickly solve this by adding 2’ and slightly altering the width of the hallway, much to the Production Designer’s satisfaction.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This was a unique challenge with needing to create a large “exhibit” to bring into the Science Centre on the day of the shoot, there was very little prep time, so small movable objects needed to be designed and created for ease of transport, while taking up significant floor space, and allowing the film crew to shoot through. With some reference note from the PD, Mel was given some free reign to come up with a solution. Inspired by the Colour Wheel sitting behind the PD’s desk, this temporary art installation was designed.</image:caption>
